A Girl’s Guide to Bali Eating

When it comes to good eating, Bali is the place to be. Whether you and your girls love rolling out of your villa in sweats or tend to opt for a fancier option, Bali’s many high-quality restaurants, cafes, and food stalls are sure to keep you nourished, full, and happy. In this article, we break down the five must-go places during your stay.

Sisterfields

Located in Seminyak, Sisterfields is an Australian cafe that offers the standard cafe food… one difference – it’s extremely high quality! This little cafe is a hidden treasure that offers to-die-for food and drinks. For food, we suggest trying the smoothie bowls and the burger! We highly recommend trying their fresh juices and smoothies as well as the cocktails. A perfect refresher from the Bali heat. Although the food and drinks are awesome, the atmosphere and aesthetic of the place is what truly sets it apart. The cafe offers the luxury of an indoor/outdoor setting, with tons of windows, allowing for natural light to shine through the whole space. The outside area displays an awesome plant wall, making the cafe 100% Instagram quality!

Cafe Organic

This cafe is undoubtedly a vegetarian’s dream (and my personal favourite)! Cafe Organic, located in Seminyak, offers plant-based, health-conscious meals, with locally farmed ingredients that are simply addictive. Let’s just say it’s almost impossible to make only one stop to this killer cafe. Personal recommendation: “The Breakfast Criminal” paired with the “Chocoholic” smoothie! In addition to the menu, the vibes here are cozy and casual, making it the perfect roll-out-of-bed breakfast place. Also, be sure to bring your phone or camera along because the wall art here is picture-perfect!

Ku De Ta

Young, hip, and happening, Ku De Ta is a restaurant, bar and beach lounge sitting right on Kuta beach, which provides the most beautiful ocean views. This sunset destination is the perfect combination of fancy and casual, providing the upscale restaurant/bar and the chill poolside. Open from 8am until late, this hotspot provides a variety of dining options from “informal grazing to relaxed fine-dining.” The choice is yours. Ku De Ta has awesome music, a killer crowd, and colorful cocktails, all to be enjoyed with the beautiful Bali sea-breeze.

Motel Mexicola

Often referred to as just “Mexicola,” this restaurant isn’t just what meets the eye. Yes, it’s a super fun Mexican restaurant with amazing tacos, tortilla chips, and tons of tequila, but this place transforms into the most amazing dance party at night. After 8:30pm, the lights get lower, music gets louder, and the tables become your dancefloor. At Mexicola, don’t worry about hitting the club, because they bring it to you!

Nalu Bowls

We saved the best for last! Nalu Bowls is a Bali classic; it’s Bali’s first smoothie bowl shack; a health nut’s heaven. If you’re into smoothies and bowls, or perhaps just love a sweet little treat, this is going to be the perfect refresher. We promise you, you’ll love it. The shack is inspired by Hawaii and its surf culture; this is reflected perfectly in each of the bowls, which are conveniently named after waves from around the world. Not only are the ingredients all locally sourced from the beautiful island, but their famous granola (that the bowls are topped with) is baked fresh every day! It’s safe to say you’re getting a fresh, healthy, and delicious experience here. A note to all peanut butter lovers: try the “J-bay!”
